This commercial is likely to be targeted for main streamers. This is because firstly, people with money are more likely to purchase this product. To continue, mainstreams look for comfort security and something that helps them be themselves and relaxed. I chose a message chair because I personally believe that this gives people comfort. Lastly, usually people with money are the one purchasing messaging chairs.

I think that this commercial is aimed for aspires. This is because the commercial and the packaging    are more attractive and exciting than the actual item. The group of 'aspires' are people who are more interested in looking good than feeling good. They would rather buy something because the packing is attractive then because they are actually interested in the item.

This commercial is targeted successors. This is because successors are more likely to be able to afford it as they have achieved a lot in life. This group of people are more likely to buy the latest phones, to have the latest products and etc..
Successors are more likely to be found in this group as they are able and can afford to go for new things.

This commercial is targeted for the resigned. This is because they are still living in the past. They would rather go for something they enjoyed having in the past than something that's new or latest. Old people usually belong in this group. This is because they are not open to change.
Middle- aged people could also be found in this group as their minds might have been set in the past because of the parents who also belong in this group.

This is aimed for explores. This is because explores are more likely to go for something new, something no one else has tries before. They go for new phones, new Ipads, new computers. Youngsters usually belong in this category. The explores are the people you'd expect to find at new stores or at shops buying new products.
Women could also be found in this category as they try to find their inner self by exploring new things.

This commercial is probably aimed for struggle's. This is because they are more likely to look for easy money as they have no jobs or money and go for cheap things.
Strugglers are people are having troubles coping and living life. This is because they don't money to live a good life as they haven't achieved when they were younger.

This ad is targeted for reformers. This is because in this ad we are shown women wearing Nike, this goes against the stereotypical role of the woman. I think it shows that woman can go and seek enlightenment. Women are probably likely to be found in this group, as they try to break out of the stereotype of women.

This ad is targeted for men. This is because the colour of the car yellow, something not many women would purchase. Although there aren't any males in this ad, if a woman were to see she wouldn't feel targeted. If this car was targeted to women, the colour of the car would be different and there would be some female characters in the ad.

This is diving watch ad. In this ad it is evident that the main target being aimed at is men.Firstly, the colours of the watches are very masculine. There is two male characters in this ad. Lastly, the watches seem very manly. They certainly aren't uni-sex. If this was a female ad, the colours of the watches would be different. There would probably female characters and the setting would be least masculine.

This ad is aimed for women. this is because women would be interested in toilet paper as she is the one that takes care of the house. The setting seems very plain and feminine. The main character in this ad is a female and she isn't doing anything that would attract men to buy it. She is fully dressed and appropriate.

It is evident that this deodorant is aimed for women, Firstly the setting seems very
tranquil and feminine. A good shade of blue and white is used.
The deodorant
themselves have a very feminine vibe to it. The main character is
doing anything to persuade
men to buy the product. If this product was aimed for men everything listed above would've been the opposite.
This is a cleaning product ad. It is evidently aimed for women as women
are the ones who take care of the house.
The woman in the ad seems happy and this is ad is
showing that this product can buy happiness just like hers.
The colours used and the outfit she is wearing are very feminine and girly. This is all done to persuade women to buy
this product in order to gain happiness.
This ad is aimed for men. firstly, the company that created this trainers usually sell very masculine
products. the colours of the trainers aren't very feminine.
The setting used for the trainers seems very dirty and rough- something women wouldn't go through.
Although there aren't any male characters in this print ad, it is very understandable that it is aimed for men.

This ad seems uni-sex. Although there is a woman in the ad it seems that its telling the whole world
that smoking is believing.
The colours and the shades used seem very calm and very appropriate for both genders.

There is equilibrium at the start of the movie- It starts of by the main protagonist hanging with his friends, talking and having fun with them. A normal guy’s night out. This is equilibrium because in most movies the beginning is predicted to be normal. If you weren't told the genre of a movie you wouldn't be able to guess from the start as they all start off normally. There is equilibrium at the end of the movie. This is because the movie ends with the two main characters defeating and winning against the machines. A good ending is one of the most popular endings in movies. This lets the audience feel satisfied and they feel like they can rest for the night. This is equilibrium because it is something expected from the audience. If the movie had a sad end I’d be Disequilibrium.

The movie begins to be Disequilibrium at the middle of the movie. It begins by when someone helps the main protagonist get of jail. Because the audience doesn't know who this person is, they remain confused for a while. When the machine (the bad one) gets two people who are totally strangers with each other to get together and cover tasks it’s a use of Disequilibrium. This is because this is nothing the audience planned to see. There is more equilibrium in the end. When the main male character goes to visit the little boy for his birthday party, the audience feel like they will happily live ever after. This is very typical in movies. The typical cycle that is used in movies is the following: the hero of the movie finds out about something threatening that is taking place. He/She looks for solution. He/She gets rewarded by the country or the people of the town. They then live happily ever after.

  1. All the Institutions involved in the production of Fish Tank. List them with a summary of what their contribution to the film was. Fish tank is a low budget film directed by Andrea Anorld. It was filmed in Mardyke Estate. It is a BBC funded film.
  2. Two other Independent British Film production companies – their “brand”, as well as current and previous productions. The annual British Academy Film Awards and British film institute and BBC films.
  3. Out of the three Production Companies you have researched, which do you see as most successful and why? I think the best film industry is the BBC as they have produced numerous of recognised work such as Fish tank.
  4. How much Fish Tank cost to produce (it’s budget) £1000
  5. Film budgets – find 5 films made for £5 million pounds or less – what types of films are feasible on this budget? The Blair Witch Project and Deep Throat.
  6. How was Fish Tank funded? It was funded by the LimeLight Communication.
  7. Research one other way that British films are funded. Are there any similarities or differences? The similarities are that while your watching the movie you feel that not much money was put into it.
  8. What is the target audience for Fish Tank? Teenagers.
  9. Research the mainstream 16–25 youth cinema market and decide which 3 genres are most targeted at them and justify your decisions with your research. Most of the genres watched by youths are action, romance and horror.  This because females are really attracted to romance and males are attracted to action. Horror is a genre that both of the genders can relate to and feel attracted to.
  10. Who is the main distributor of Fish Tank?  IFC (Independednt film channel)
  11. What is the role of a film distributor? Are there any differences between distribution in the US and UK? They promote and are in charge of the marketing of the film.
  12. How was Fish Tank promoted (when it was released in 2009)? Trailers and print ads.
  13. Compare this with a big budget blockbuster. What are the main similarities and differences? The big budget movie gets noticed by the audience within days, a low budget movie needs to be recognised for its quality and if it doesn't have quality it won't be known.
  14. Analyse the trailers for 2 different films (from different genres). Are there any differences in the way they hook the audience into the narrative and pose questions that the film will answer? Identify at least 2 similarities and 2 differences.
The two trailers I chose are: Silent hill and Titanic. The differences in these two videos are that silent hill creates supence and makes the audience want to learn more about the movie. However, in Titanic the audience want to know about th ending of the tragic love story. Silent hill creates supspence and Titanic creates excitement. The similarities are that both trailers make the audience want to learn more about the story and the characters. Both the trailers make the audience interested and catch their curiosity.
  1. How do the trailers for your other films balance plot and spectacle? Identify at least 2 similarities and 2 differences.  I think the trailers for my chosen my movies balance the plot really well. Throughout the movie every scene from the trailer appears and makes sence. The audience are already given hits about the movies in the trailers and half way through the movie they realise that every expection of the movie turned out to be real. The differences include that some silent hill doesn't exactly give as much information about the movie like titanic. After watching the titanic trailer the audience know everything that's going to happen, in Silent Hill this is very different.
  2. Think about the certificate of Fish Tank (15 certificate). Research film certification and outline what is deemed acceptable for this certificate. What is the difference between a 15 certificate and an 18 certificate?  The differene are that 15 certificate is roughly suitabloe for kids at that age and watching a 18 certificate isn't encouraged. A 18 certificate means that people aged 18 are encouraged to watch it and not any youngers, this could be because of innapropiate behaviour.
The next video I chose is: Belle D'Opium Advert

This video opens with the main character walking, this shown through a long camera shot. This quickly changes into a medium shot showing the character walking from the back. This is used to show where she's going. At 00: 18 there's a shot of the characters shoes. This is done to promote the shows. To do this high angle shot is used. At the minute 01:00 there's a shot showing the same character with a different look. To show this medium shot is used. At 01:02 there's an extreme close up to show the characters lips and lipstick. At 01:06 there's a shot showing the shoes that are being promoted- to do this a medium shot is used. At 01: 08 there's a extreme close up used to show her eyes. AT 01:20 there's a high angle shot to show the perfume. At 01:24 there's a shot from behind to show the character embracing the perfume as she is looking at the view. At 01: 34 there's a shot of the print ad of the perfume being promoted.
The video I decided is Hold on.

This video opens by having a low angle shot were we see of the characters working out. The use of the long angle shot from 00:00-00:05 seconds makes this character look very dominant as the audience are looking up at him. There's then a quick change of image where the audience see a different character looking up and in 00:09 seconds there's another change of image. We see the character in a treadmill running.. Panning is used to show the amount of time spent on that treadmill. We then see a low angle shot that slowly changes into panning. This is to show the main two characters and their surroundings. On the seconds: 00: 18 we receive a medium shot of the main character preparing to rap. We then get a low angle shot were we again see the 2 characters sitting. There's then a quick change of image were we see one of the characters working out at the park. We then a get a medium shot were we see 3 of the characters coming out of the elevator. There's then a change of image were we see a medium shot of one of the characters holding a a note book as he began rapping. There's then a change of scene were the camera zooms in the character rapping and then zooms out. On 00:40 there's an extreme close up of the character rapping and then a quick change that shows the other character walking in through a door and then its back to the main character rapping. There's then a medium shot of the main character rapping and then a medium shot of the other character rapping. There's then a low angle shot of these two characters under a Ferris Wheel then we go back to the main character on a medium shot rapping. This takes place at 00:50.
At 02:20, there's a medium shot of him rapping again quickly changes into the 2 characters rapping then back again of the main character rapping. At 02: 25 there's a low camera shot that shows dominance. At 02: 35 there's another excellent example of a low angle shot that shows power. At 02:58 there's a weather shot that shows the setting and surroundings. At the end (03:06) the video ends the way it started: the main character on treadmill. The last scene shown is the main character on a medium shot that changes into high angle shot.
